Ontario's Best Butter Tart Festival
When Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival originated in 2013, it was the first full-scale event in the province solely dedicated to this quintessential Canadian dessert and it remains the largest butter tart festival in Canada.
Held annually on the second Saturday in June in the town of Midland (pop. 17,000), the festival’s footprint of 37,922 square meters includes the downtown core and the waterfront parks. On June 8, 2024, 65,000 butter tart lovers descended upon Midland to enjoy more than 300,000 butter tarts, 200 vendors and food trucks, butter tart contest, live entertainment, and more.
