Muslimfest

MuslimFest is an annual three-day festival that celebrates the best in Muslim art, culture, and entertainment. The event showcases Muslim artists and performers, and takes place every summer in Mississauga, Ontario. As the Muslim community has grown in Canada, we have also seen instances of hatred and racism. Starting this festival, post 9-11, the aim of the festival was to promote understanding and appreciation of Muslim heritage, fostering inclusivity and cultural awareness among diverse communities through various activities. Some features of the festival include educational workshops, an international bazaar, a variety show, comedy show, musical performances, film screenings, art exhibitions, and more. MuslimFest aims to dispel stereotypes and promote knowledge about Islamic culture, art, and traditions with the help of youth. The festival is largely run by youth coordinators that plan and support the execution of the festival, including operations, programming, and sponsorship coordination. As we've grown, MuslimFest now bring attendees from around the world, including the UK and US. We highlight international and local artists, and support local businesses on an international platform.
