Session Title: Strategies and approaches for designing event impact assessments

Session Description: This session highlights important considerations for developing effective event impact assessments. Drawing from relevant scholarly and professional literature, the session will begin by sharing general strategies and principles for designing effective event assessments and indicators. The session will then discuss and present specific types of assessments and indicators, including sample measures for assessing economic, social, and environmental event impacts. The session will conclude with reflections about the importance of conducting event impact assessments, and suggestions for improving their design and implementation. 

 

3 Expected Learning Outcomes for Attendees

  1. Understand evidence-informed strategies for designing meaningful post-event event impact assessments. 
  2. Increase awareness of indicators/measures relevant for conducting economic, social, and environmental event impact assessments.   
  3. Identify ways to improve the quality of evidence collected for event impact assessments.
