Ian Thompson 

General Manager of the Caledonia Fair and Secretary-Treasurer of District 6 of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies 

Ian Thompson is General Manager of the Caledonia Fair and Secretary-Treasurer of District 6 of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS). A lifelong resident of Caledonia, Ian joined the Agricultural Society in 2008 as a first-generation junior member, later becoming the youngest director in the organization's history. Ian succeeded long-time Fair Manager Vickie Peart who retired in 2019. Ian’s efforts to execute creative and strategic fundraisers and special event partnerships have helped to ensure that Caledonia Fair has been able to thrive through the COVID-19 pandemic, and under the burden of a $4million mortgage following an $8million renovation of the organization’s Riverside Exhibition Centre which was completed in 2020. Ian has previously served as Chair of Caledonia’s Canada Day Celebrations (2016-2022), organizer of the Metro Loop Victoria Day Fireworks (2019-2023), President of the Society for the Preservation of Old Mills (Canada), and a board member for West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH). He looks forward to working alongside the FEO team to support festivals and events across the province.
