ABOUT THE EVENT / PROMOTION

Violinist Sadie Fields returns to Guelph from Belgium to join pianist Ken Gee for another Guelph Musicfest recital at Grace United Church, Thornbury (former home of the Collingwood Chamber Music Society). The Roaring 20s was a decade of incredible energy and creativity around the world, particularly in Paris as well as North America. Like now, it was an amazing comeback from the great influenza pandemic of 1918 with Jazz having big influence on “Classical” music. This program concept was created by Sadie and her excitement and love for the music of the 1920s. Last year’s Roaring 20s concert was such a hit that we had to do a SEQUEL! The concert features virtuoso violin arrangements by Jascha Heifetz of Gershwin hits from Porgy & Bess and American in Paris, plus Debussy’s beautiful Violin Sonata, music by Rebecca Clarke, Lili Boulanger and more! This concert is the second of a 2-concert series including DOUBLE FOUR SEASONS: Vivaldi & Piazzolla on November 9 at Grace United Church. The concert starts at 3 pm.
