From music and highland dance, to heavy events and highland games, there's something for everyone.The Fergus Scottish Festival, established in 1946, has a mandate to promote a Festival dedicated to the preservation of visual, musical, athletic, and written heritage of Scotland and those Scottish people who made Upper Canada (Ontario) home. A popular community based event, the Festival hosts a competitive environment of local and International Heavy Event competitors, Highland Dancers, as well as Pipe & Drum bands. Local and world class music and entertainers as well as an educational component of Scottish Clans and heritage round out the weekend. The Festival caters to all ages, abilities, and nationalities and strives to provide the ultimate Scottish experience right in our charming town. The Festival has an impact on local businesses, tourism industry, and local residents within the Township and across the County. It is consistently awarded a top 100 Festival designation by Festival and Events Ontario.
