Tweed & Company Theatre is a registered charity and is a creator and producer of original Canadian musical theatre, as well as quality grassroots regional theatre. The Company has been active since the fall of 2009, and has produced several large-scale original Canadian musicals, as well as countless other Canadian and international productions. As of January 2022 Tweed & Company owns and operates the Marbles Arts Centre in Tweed, and operates the Bancroft Village Playhouse and the Tweed & Company Outdoor Stage. The Company also operates a vibrant youth training component that hosts multiple youth theatre training programs each year, always casts local talent in major season productions, and provides opportunities for community members to get involved behind the scenes and in the front of house throughout the year.
Tweed & Company’s 2023 Season included three world premieres - Both Sides Now, Murder at Ackerton Manor, and The Lion of Oz - as well as a production of hit musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Ontario-based play Miss Caledonia, alongside 74 one-night-only presentations and expanded youth programming at the Marble Arts Centre in Tweed and Bancroft Village Playhouse. It was the company’s first summer programming for their new Outdoor Stage in Tweed, where they hosted events in collaboration with local arts organizations as well as headliner concerts by Hotel California: The Original Eagles Tribute and My Son the Hurricane.
