Michael began his career working in publicity for a performing arts company in Toronto after graduating with honours in Fine Art and History from York University.
As the Executive Director for Ontario150 he worked on initiatives for Canada’s 150th anniversary across Ontario.
In his previous position as Director of the Investment and Development Office with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, he has been a champion of the tourism and festivals and events industry since joining the Ministry in 2001.
In 2012, Michael led the team that won an Amethyst Award for Outstanding Achievement by Ontario Public Servants for hosting the successful IIFA (International Indian Film Awards) Weekend and Awards Show.
In 2007, he was the architect of the Celebrate Ontario program, which helps Ontario festivals and events enhance their programs, activities and services.
Prior to joining the Ministry, Michael held several director positions with the government of Ontario and lectured at several universities and colleges.
Michael has been and continues to be a true champion of the festival and events industry in Ontario.
