Gerry’s career has included employment in senior management positions in Ontario’s Festivals and Events industry with extensive experience in Not for Profit Organizations, Municipal Governments and Private Corporations. Gerry’s work experience allowed him to develop special skills in Management, Master Planning, Marketing and Sponsorship Development for a number of organizations in Canada and the United States.
In previous provincial capacities, Gerry served for 10 years as General Manager of the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival, now formally branded as The Niagara Wine Festival. During that tenure he also launched the Niagara Icewine Festival and the Niagara New Vintage Festival. These three annual festivals cumulatively generate in excess of 100,000 visitors.
Among other roles in Ontario, he was also Special Projects Manager for the City of London, where he managed that City’s premier Storybook Gardens attraction. Just prior to accepting the role at the helm of Canada Blooms Gerry also ran the Fort Myers Edison Festival of Light, one of Florida’s longest established festivals. Gerry also held many leadership positions such as Festival & Events Ontario, Attractions Ontario, Niagara College Special Events Program, Ontario Summer Games – London, Olympic Torch Relay and many more.
