Peter Booker - Royal Botanical Gardens

Peter started working for the City of Hamilton in 1974.  His positions included gardener, foreman, general foreman, special events liaison officer and manager of Parks.  Over these years Peter was hands on with logistics of events ranging from neighborhood, community, small, large, religious, world visitations like President Clinton, Queen Elizabeth, Patriarch Bartholomew, world cycling championships, grey cups and more.

In 2003, Peter became the Director of Horticulture, Facilities and Fleet for the Royal Botanical Gardens.  He has been a long standing friend of Festivals & Events Ontario and a judge for the Achievement Award for the past 17 years.  As an event organizer himself, for the City of Hamilton annual Chrysanthemum Show.  One of his greatest honors was to win a FEO Award.

Peter is very proud of having served on the Mohawk College adviser Board and is a past facility member in continuing education – Event management course in specializing in logistics.  He is also very proud of being honored with the Life Time Achievement Award from Tourism Hamilton.
