Inducted in 2003
Greg Bailey who retired in 2002, was the Manager of the Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls.
2003 Festival Chairman George Hostick said “Bailey helped bring it (Winter Festival of Lights) into the big league; going from a small local festival to one with ‘national recognition’. Through his contacts and diving into things, he has been able to raise us to that level.”
Highlights of the two-month Festival included a nationally televised New Year’s Eve outdoor concert attended by thousands of revellers, live stage entertainment, a spectacular Night Parade, fireworks extravaganzas over the Falls and a multitude of dazzling light displays. Dedicated staff members and a small army of volunteers made all of these beautiful events possible.
Bailey credits his success in large part to his good organizational skills, belief in detailed planning and “joie de vivre” in general.
