Inducted in 2002
Jim Thomson started his business out of his home and grew it to an international supplier of inflatable balloons for the largest events across North America.
In Las Vegas, NV 2000, The Inflatable Advertising Dealers Association inducted James Thomson as their first Hall of Fame member recognizing his invention of the cold air inflatable as being the start of their industry as a whole.
Inflatables of all types such as helium, games and stationary have made a most visible impact on the events industry. Virtually every event in North America has some sort of inflatable featured either for sponsor visibility or as event décor and interactivity. This would not exist without the creative genius of James Lorne Thompson.
Jim Thomson’s product has played major roles in Super Bowl Games, the Olympics, World Cup Soccer, PGA Tournaments, countless parades and events local and worldwide. His rental characters have also brought Ontario Events to new heights such as the Burlington Sound of Music Festival, Niagara Grape and Wine Festival, Niagara Blossom Festival, Ottawa Christmas Parade, Canadian Tulip Festival, Hamilton Aqua Fest, London Air Show…To name a few.
Jim is now retired after spending 40 years of tremendous contribution to Events in Ontario and around the world.
